We are excited to announce the 2026 BPNA Annual Conference due to take place from 28-30 January 2026 at the Technology Innovation Centre in Glasgow.
The last time Glasgow hosted the BPNA conference was in in the year 2000, when Glasgow’s very own Sameer Zuberi was one of the MacKeith prize winners. He was awarded the prize for his ground-breaking research into channelopathies. We look forward to welcoming you back to Glasgow again, 26 years later.
Sitting on the River Clyde, Glasgow has rich and troubled industrial history, mostly focussed on the ship-building industry. Architectural and artistic highlights in Glasgow include the Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow Cathedral, the legacy of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the recently reopened Burrell Collection in Pollock Park, said to be the greatest art gift ever given to a city. The Wednesday evening drinks reception will be held in the magnificent city chambers on George Square. The Thursday conference dinner will be held at the Kelvingrove Museum, which will be celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2026.
Modern Glasgow is renowned for its vibrant music scene, and is a UNESCO City of Music. Our conference will take place in the modern Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) at the University of Strathclyde, right in the heart of the city, a short walk from the cathedral, the city chambers and the two train stations. There are many excellent restaurants and comfortable hotels very close to the venue.
