The wellbeing of EM physicians is vital for patient care and professional fulfilment. This interactive course addresses high-pressure challenges and offers practical strategies for managing burnout, nutrition, and sleep hygiene.

A diverse panel will facilitate all session and foster a collaborative learning environment. Through shared experiences, interactive games, and reflective discussions, all participants will draw on collective insights to build mutual support and actionable wellbeing tools.

Please note, registration for this event will close on Wednesday 4 March, but may close earlier if capacity is reached.

Learning objectives:

  • Recognize the signs and risks of burnout:
    Identify early warning signs, risk factors, and consequences of burnout specific to EM, and understand its impact on personal and professional wellbeing
  • Apply evidence-based strategies for stress management:
    Demonstrate practical techniques to manage acute and chronic stress in the workplace, including mindfulness, time management, and peer support
  • Implement nutrition and sleep hygiene practices:
    Apply practical, evidence-based recommendations for nutrition and sleep tailored to the demands of shift work in EM
  • Enhance teamwork and communication for wellbeing:
    Participate in team-based activities to foster camaraderie, mutual support, and effective communication, recognizing role of colleagues in promoting a healthier work environment
  • Develop a personal wellbeing action plan:
    Create and commit to a personalized wellbeing plan, setting realistic goals for nutrition, sleep, stress management, and self-care, with strategies for ongoing self-assessment and improvement.
