One-day online training covering contraception and STIs for primary care practitioners. Cost – £190. Several dates available.
SRH Essentials is an interactive course with scenario based learning, presentations, time for discussion, questions and role play. The course provides a solid foundation for those who see patients with sexual and reproductive health needs but who have had little or no formal SRH training, or provides a useful update for those with more experience. Participants acquire the skills to consult patients knowledgeably and confidently on contraception, STI testing and emergency contraception.
Designed by the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, SRH Essentials is aimed specifically for healthcare practitioners working in primary care settings.
On completion of SRH Essentials, participants will have the skills and confidence to:
Consult with patients about their sexual and reproductive healthcare needs
Recommend an appropriate method of emergency contraception
Assess when a patient is at risk of pregnancy
Assess when a patient needs emergency contraception and what method can be recommended safely
Review the COC, POP and injection contraceptive methods
Carry out sexual health risk assessments
Identify when a patient is at risk of STIs
